Did you know that most rosés are made from the same grapes that your favorite reds are? The difference is they are not macerated for an extended period of time with their skins on. Since all but very few grapes bleed white juice, the pink comes from the short contact with the skins. What you get from this is a fruit-forward but bone-dry wine. That sweet stuff that many of us drank “back in the day” was loaded with extra sugar and not at all representative of the delicious and highly versatile old world rosé that we are excited to turn you on to.
